​Problem gambling affects approximately 6 to 8 million individuals and their families in the US. However, treatment resources and programs remain limited. Carson's primary area of expertise is in the treatment of gambling disorder and the many problems that accompany it. In 1997, Carson began his own recovery process and has since worked formally and informally with hundreds of problem gamblers and affected individuals. He provides clients with a balanced, evidence-based clinical approach tempered with his own personal experiences and empathic style to provide clients with an unmatched level of support in their journey.

As an authorized California Gambling Education and Treatment Services (CalGETS) provider, Carson has specialized training and a wealth of resources to assist clients and their affected loved ones in navigating the stormy seas of recovery from problem gambling. Carson provides treatment for problem gambling to adult individuals and affected others on a sliding scale basis according to need. Certain clients may even qualify for no-cost treatment.
